“We rented the Manoir for a period during the summer of 2009, where we spent
half of our time in the Dordogne and the other half in Lot. We preferred the
countryside around the Lot for its unparalleled rural qualities. This is a
beautiful part of France which has vast areas of farmland and woodland set in
both rolling hills and expansive plains. Our preference was for tranquillity,
and despite easy access to local amenities such as the market town of Cahors,
we were blessed with a truly peaceful location. The weather was kind to us,
enabling us to enjoy the still summer evenings dining alfresco every evening,
and sitting out until late into the night. The Manoir itself provided an
extremely high standard of accommodation, and comfortably hosted our two
families with five children between us. The stone staircase was a fine
architectural piece, dominating the centre of the house and connecting four
stories from the cellars to the roof. There were numerous other beautiful and
original features, but the house did not compromise on comfort and modern
conveniences. A very well equipped kitchen and immaculate bathrooms added the
five star touches to a historic building. In order to relax fully, we engaged
the services of a local chef who prepared and served superb meals for our
families, including separate evening meals for the children. Most days were
spent around the swimming pool which was maintained to a perfect temperature,
appealing as much to the adults as to the children. In summary we had a most
relaxing holiday and would thoroughly recommend the Manoir to anybody seeking a
high quality rental.”

"We have rented many houses over the years, and this is really one of the best
we have stayed at. Le Manoir is beautifully located, extremely spacious, very
comfortable and well equipped, making for a 5 star break in some lovely
unspoiled countryside."

“May we compliment you on the fabulous re-building and tasteful refurbishment
of the manoir. As seasoned 'travellers', Les Gaillardoux sits with the best of
the properties we have had the privilege to spend time in. We loved the region
and travelled around most days. The restaurants, local, and far and wide were
also excellent. The housekeeper was helpful and available. The pool was greatly
enjoyed by the group.”
